Splish Splash at Waterfront Park

Waterfront Park in downtown Charleston is a great place to take in the sights of Charleston and take some stunning photos. There are two fountains in the 12-acre park: the iconic Pineapple Fountain and the large splash-pad-style-fountain.

There’s plenty of green space to throw a blanket and have a picnic. The pier has porch swings to kick back and relax as well as a few tables. The Water Taxi from Mount Pleasant drops off right at the pier. There are plenty of public parking garages nearby. Also nearby is one of the only downtown restaurants located on the water, Fleet Landing. I love their shrimp and grits. Fleet landing has inside and outside seating.

#MyPleasantCity Tip: Both fountains are an amazing free way to beat the heat with your kids. So come in your swimsuits and sunscreen. Afterward, enjoy some Italian Ice from the cart near the pier, or better yet, go to my favorite dessert bar. It's only a five-minute walk to Carmella’s Cafe & Desset Bar up Venue Range and right on East Bay Street.
