Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry: Escape the Heat
Escape the heat and stimulate your inner child with a family visit to this wonderful children's museum, the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry.
Located on Anne Street in downtown Charleston, the museum has seven rooms where you can explore, play and engage.
Room one has arts and crafts. Room two is a medieval castle that can bring your child’s imagination to life. Room three looks like a giant bedroom with forts and bunk beds for play. Room four is the water room where your child can learn about water flow and weather precipitation. The fifth room is a giant pirate ship for exploring and creative play. Room six is my kid’s personal favorite, The Publix shopping market. The kids learned about eating healthy, play shopped for groceries and even checked out with a kid-friendly kiosk. The seventh room is for ages 3 and under. The room is baby friendly and even has a nursing area.
And don’t forget to check the outside area with a fire truck, giant Connect Four game and golf ball rolling game. Babies under 12 months are free, and South Carolina residents get a discount.
The Children’s Museum offers classes and birthday parties. Now go have some fun!
