Twenty Six Devine: Tea Room
Afternoon tea? Yes, please!
Twenty Six Devine is a gem on upper King Street in downtown Charleston. We celebrated one of my best friend’s birthdays with a tea party.
The room is gorgeous with beautiful floral china plates and teacups. Twenty Six Devine serves exclusively Charleston Plantation Tea. While the tea steeps, we were served three tiers of edible delights. The bottom tier was filled with the chef’s savory selections of classic tea items such as finger sandwiches, deviled eggs and cucumber with salmon. The second tier was covered in sweet delights of little cakes, shortbread cookies and truffles. The top tier had freshly-baked, warm scones and biscotti.
When our tea arrived, it paired perfectly with our classic tea bites. We chatted and laughed as we enjoyed four pots of tea selections. We choose Rockville raspberry, plantation peach, Charleston breakfast and green tea. Having two pregnant women in our party, we stuck to just tea with a little cream and honey. If you want to enjoy some wine and bubbles, you can have that, too.
