Top 3 Mother's Day Breweries and Tastings in Charleston

My mother’s day this year was filled with creating memories and drinking beer! Clearly, it was one of the best mother's days I've ever had. Mostly because I could explore new places in Charleston with my family. Plus, the beer didn't hurt either.

We started our day at Commonhouse Aleworks, a brewery that is immaculately clean. They have a small menu but offer food trucks on occasion. They also have tons of board and card games. We immediately snatched up Battleship and Sorry!. It was the perfect way to enjoy your adult beverages while connecting with your kids - so both of us were entertained! Even better, one woman even commented to me how nice it was to see my husband and myself interacting with our kids and not on our phones. It made me feel really good.

Our second stop was Munkle Brewing Company, where they had cornhole boards outside and billiards, chess and checkers inside. Munkle specializes in Belgian and German-style beers. Think more malty than hoppy.

Our third stop was Tradesman Brewing Company, at their new location. Tradesman just moved downtown from James Island. It's still in the renovation phase of the new facility, but that doesn’t stop them from bringing beer to the masses. They are even beginning to can their own beers. At the moment, they are open on Saturdays and Sundays, though they only serve from a table outside the brewing side, but there's plenty of outside seating to enjoy your beer.
