The Center for Birds of Prey

The Center for Birds of Prey is a must for any animal lover!

Located in Awendaw, South Carolina, just north of Mount Pleasant, the center is home to owls, hawks, eagles, vultures, kites and falcons - nearly 50 different species of birds of prey!

The center offers educational guided walking tours with an amazing flight demonstration. The tours occur at 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Having worked with birds of prey, I appreciate all that the center has and the great work that they do. The staff work hard at training the raptors for husbandry care and flight demonstrations. Their medical clinic helps rehabilitate and treat injured birds in hopes of returning them to their natural habitats. The clinic is also home to the South Carolina Oiled Bird Treatment facility. Which means, in case of an oil spill, the facility can provide immediate care to clean and treat all birds. Quality care, research, education and conservation are the cornerstones of the Center for Birds of Prey.

#MyPleasantCity Tip: I suggest you make the trek up to Awendaw, bring a picnic and enjoy a day creating memories with our feathered friends.
