I can definitely say this is the BEST brisket I’ve ever had. John Lewis, the master of barbecue, has been smoking meat since age 18. He even helped Austin, Texas become the barbecue capital by helping open Franklin Barbecue and La Barbecue. With years of experience and his own custom-designed smokers, he makes some serious meat.
Now, I’ve had the sliced brisket, chopped brisket sandwich (my favorite), homemade hot gut sausage, homemade pickles, cornbread and sliced turkey, and, wow. Even my two picky kids devour everything from Lewis. Lewis Barbecue has an amazing tap list. The service is friendly and fast. The location has indoor and outdoor seating.
Did you know you can purchase frozen brisket to go? YES!!! We’ve done it, and it’s amazing. Feeds so.many.people. We bought it last summer to bring to our annual family beach trip, and the meat was so tempting, our aunt couldn’t resist grabbing a burnt end to taste. Lewis Barbecue gives you all of the instructions on how to turn vacuum-sealed brisket to gold. It has already fed us many nights and is always worth it!
